The Musicmaster was Fender’s budget-priced bass at the time, made from surplus parts from other Fender models. As with Fender’s guitar bearing the same name, the bass was a simpler version of Fender’s Mustang Bass. Someone is asking for £3125 in reverb for a similar one but in a better condition with the original bridge and the pickguard. Fender’s Musicmaster was first introduced in 1971, and in production through 1981. These single pickup guitars were originally marketed as student guitars but they are remarkably versatile and dynamic. I can only be guided by what I see on sell on other places. Here is an all original 1965 Fender Musicmaster with pre-CBS specs 8 DEC 64 A Neck stamp, L neck plate, and original Olympic white slab body. The width of the saddles indicate that they are from 1958 to 1960 as they are much wider than the ABR1 Reissue. It of course has a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard.
